Trust Administration
Individuals serving as trustees engage our firm for assistance with trust administration, including monthly monitoring of the investments held in the trust, preparation of the annual accounting for the trust, and preparation and filing of the annual tax returns required for the trust. We can also assist trustees with the evaluation of distributions requests by beneficiaries, and can help resolve disputes with beneficiaries. When a trustee is managing an irrevocable trust (such as a life insurance trust), the trust is often structured to require an annual gift from the grantor, which in turn requires a notice to the beneficiaries informing them of the gift. We assist many trustee clients with this annual gifting and notice process.
